Diabel Cissokho and Josh Benda first met in 2001, doing several sessions in Diabel's hometown Dakar / Senegal. It was a groundbreaking experience for both musical personalities. It took them until 2014 to hook up again and finally play in Vienna for a week. The initial magic of their heartful understanding was there again, right from the start.
Together with congenial percussionist Johannes Bohun they took down „Nanio“ in less than 10 hours at Vienna's „Dezibel Etage Studios“ - fresh herbal tea from the studio's garden and „Käsebrot“ included.
